Ride report by Simeon Orme The highlight of the ride was a deer run out in front of me on the road from Yealand Storrs to Leighton Moss but the ride starting for me, following Kellet Lane down to Clear Water Bistro & Bar for morning brew where there 20 percent discount on coffee and cake if you cycle there. After my refuelling stop, I following the lanes through Borwick, then followed Keer Holme Lane up the Keer Valley through Keer Holme and Keer Side. Then there was more road work as followed lanes through Hutton Roof and then Newbiggin Lane into Newbiggin. I headed out of Newbiggin on Puddlemire Lane, then followed the lane down to Airbank and then the public byway down to the ford across Lupton Beck where my plan was to use the foot bridge to cross the beck but the bridge was lying on it side in field on opposite side of the beck. So my plans change, so I stop to have some lunch at one of picnic tables by the ford. There was a bit of entertainment during my lunch break watching two young motor bikers with there mum going through the ford and yes saw the only bit of blue sky of day for about minute before clouded over again. Has did want to get my feet wet, so headed back up to Puddlemire Lane which follow down to Farleton. I then headed through Farleton, then after crossing over the A 6070 and the Lancaster Canal, then followed the lane down to Elmsfield House, then Pye’s Bridge Lane into Hale Green where cross over the A6 before heading through Hale. From Hale, there few miles of lane work, has headed to Leighton Moss Café at RPSB Visitor Centre. After my afternoon brew stop, I followed road through Crag Foot and then on to Warton before following public byway down to Hagg Wood where I cross over the River Keer via the Footbridge. Then it was some more lane work, for next few miles as headed into Crag Bank where cross over the A6 and then followed the towpath along side the Lancaster into Bolton-le-Sands. Then from Bolton-le-Sand, I headed back to Halton via Ancliffe Lane.
