Walk report by Simeon Orme It as been many years  seen I walk up to Fairy Steps, so ask my Mum Pat Lloyd if interested in having to walk to Fairy Steps and she said she would be, so I pick up in the car and drove up the A6  to Beetham, then head through Beetham and then followed lanes up to Longtail Wood where I parked the car in lay-by about 50 metres from start of the walk. There was nice views looking through the woods down to Hazelslack as we followed the footpath along Beetham Fell, we had go at slow pace as Pat is slowly getting her fittest back after three month stay in hospital but this gave me plenty of time to take some photos of the walk. Once we got to Fairy Steps, Pat had go at trying to get up the Fairy Steps but did not have strength to get up so she stop at bottom of steps and had something to eat, while I when up the steps and took some photos of the view which I must say was outstanding. After Pat refuel we slowly retrace our steps back to car and then headed to Leighton Moss Cafe at RSPB Visitor Centre for afternoon brew and cake. For a lot folk 1.5 miles is short walk but this is the furthest Pat as walk in 12 months.
