Cyclist’s Guide to Photography
Cyclist’s Guide to PhotographyI describe myself has heavy duty cycling photographer, who carries a lot photo equipment when I go out on cycle ride. In 2019 move from using a bridge camera to using SLR Digital Camera and currently own two Pentax K-70 bodies, one Pentax K-3 III body, one Pentax K-1 ii body and a lot of lens. In this section of the Where’s the Brew Stop? The off - road cycle touring website, I am going answer some questions folk keep asking me about photography and what I am using regards photo equipment, I am no photo expert, I am just cyclist that enjoys taking good photos of the cycle rides that I do and photos of the plants in my back garden. My photo editing process: I currently use Microsoft one drive to import photos from the camera memory cards by inserting the memory card into memory card reader (Which you buy on Amazon for under £10), Microsoft one drive imports the photos to folder in Camera imports, where open up the photos in Affinity Photo 2 and resize them to suitable size to be use on my website (click document, then click resize document) then inside Affinity Photo, I then open up Topaz photo AI 3 (Click Filters, click Plugins, click Topaz labs and then click Topaz Photo AI). In Topaz photo AI 3, the software spend about under minute looking at the photo, once its finish doing this, click apply recommendations, then in the small window appears click apply, then its takes software a few seconds clean and sharpen photos, if happy with results you click export back to Affinity photo (You also add other enhancements by clicking add enhancements). Back Affinity Photo now add a bit mood to photo by using a preset in Skylum Luminar Neo and other photo plugins. Once I done all the photo editing I export photo as jpec file and saved the photo as Affinity photo file to folder with date the photo was taken.Photo editing software and photo plugins.I currently use Microsoft one drive for importing my photos from my cameras on to my desktop, then use Affinity Photo for photo editing and do additional photo editing in these photo plugins: Filter Forge, Topaz Photo Al, Skylum Luminar Neo and ONI Photo Raw Max 2025. Also do some photo editing in Xara Designer Pro X which use mainly editing this website. Tripods and tripod heads.I have three tripods that use on regular basis these are the Leofoto Ranger LS-225C, the Leofoto Ranger LS-223C and SLIK MINI PRO 7. with all three tripods you can put in saddle bag or rucksack and would not notice the weight. I have come to conclusion with tripods you need buy them separate from tripod heads and look at weight the tripod head is design to hold and controls on it. The two tripod heads that I use with Leofoto Ranger tripods are Weyllan RH52 and Weyllan RH44 (You can see photos of at this link).Photo a day photo galleriesI just started again taking photos each day documenting my journey through chemotherapy, you can click hereto see the photo index page.Links to photography and equipment websitesThis page will full of links to other photography and equipment websites.I will keep updating this section but does take time write these sort web pages and welcome some feedback from you if you found the page on Photo editing software and photo plugins useful or not. This section was last updated on the 17th March 2025 and find out other updates to the website on the What’s New Page.
