Walk report by Simeon Orme I decided to take the opportune to add my camera collection and upgrade my main camera from bridge camera to SLR Digital Camera, has I had several Pentax camera lens, I decide to stay with Pentax range so that I could use the older lens with the new Pentax camera body. After doing some research on Amazon, decide to go with Pentax K-70 camera body which was design for outdoor photographer and 50mm F1.8 lens which order on the Thursday evening and was deliver on the Friday, I may got better deal if waited another day for the Black Friday Sale but ended up paying £479.78 for the camera body which as recommend retail price of £599.99 and you still get the camera body on Amazon at around £500 mark in Deember 2019. I did over pay for 50mm F1.8 lens which cost £124.95 but can now find on Amazon for £92.83 in December 2019. Anyway after playing around with the new camera on Friday, I decide to have another look on Amazon and got Pentax smc DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens for £165.97 which still find on Amazon in December 2019 for £179.00 with recommend retail price of £199.99. On Cypher Monday Sale, I had another look on Amazon and spend a bit time thinking if could afford another lens and lucking me for me I was on holiday for the week and had the time wait in for Amazon to deliver the items that I had order. So decided to get Pentax 55 - 300 mm HD DA F4.5-6.3ED PLM WR RE Telephoto Zoom Lens for £279.73 which can still find on Amazon in December 2019 for the same price with recommend retail price of £349.00. Other thing had remember as cycling photographer is to work out best way carry your photo equipment after a bit of trial and error on my part, I decided to get Neewer Camera Sling Backpack which cost £26.99 main reason for buying brand it came with Rain Cover. The main reason for going with sling backpack instead of rucksack camera bag or just ordinary camera bag. Is when stop on your bike to take photo with sling backpack you just move pack from back of your body to front of your body, to get at your camera, where with rucksack camera bag, you going have stop, put the bike down on the ground and then take the rucksack off your back to get at your camera which means a bit messing about to get at the camera and may have lost the shot you were wanting take. I found with ordinary camera bag they okay if just want take one camera with one lens if want take more equipment you need to look at sling backpack. The reason, I written about how much its cost me to upgrade from bridge camera to SLR Digital Camera do ask me what sort of camera I am using, I now got stage with my cycle photography where need better camera and willing to carry weight of two or three lens to get the photos that I want to take and spend just over one thousand pound which could got me good bike. You don’t have spend a lot of money to get in cycle photography you pick up good Digital Compact Camera for around £100.00 on Amazon which can stick pack pocket of your cycling shirt which will take good photos for two or three before braking down and having replace with something better. Cycling is like photography more you spend on your equipment the longer its going last before braking down, I still have two SLR Pentax film camera bodies which still work which bought over 35 years ago and seen starting this website in 2001, I have gone through about four Digtail Compact Cameras before moving on to bridge camera and then on SLR Digtail Camera. The above photos taken on first outing, with the Pentax K-70 with 50 mm lens on it on walk up to the Crook n’ Lune and back to Halton, I am not going great detail about walk, if enjoy looking at the photos and want to do the walk, there be link to gpx file of route starting and finishing at Halton Station at bottom of this report.
