Ride report by Simeon Orme It was just one of those days where you have to ride out to the morning cafe stop and see how day pan out! The weather forecast for morning was not very brilliant but it was post to pick up in the afternoon which it did but it was grim start with freezing fog hanging over the Lune Valley as I rode up to Caton on the cycle path. Has I started to climb out of Lune Valley on Quernmore Road the fog started to break up which made for some interesting photo stops. I turn off Quernmore Road and followed Postern Gate Road and then Rigg Lane up and through Quermore before dropping down to Five Lanes Ends. I then followed the lanes through Bay Horse and Hollins Lane around to morning cafe stop at JC Country at Cleveley Bank Farm. After having my brew and cake, it had started to snow as I was coming out of the cafe, so I thought it would good ideal to head for home as the conditions on the lanes were not brilliant for riding. So I followed the lanes back through Bay Horse and up to Five Lanes End, then headed down to Galgate. Once I cross over the A6, I headed out of Galgate on Highland Brow and then after crossing over Shearset Beck Bridge, then followed lane through Lower Burrow and Tarnwater where I join the A588 which followed for good mile into Conder Green. From Conder Green, I followed the cycle path up the Lune Estuary to Aldcliffe where I call in to see Peter Kenner and had my lunch there! After my lunch stop, I headed back down to cycle path and followed it back through Lancaster back to Halton.
