Ride report by Simeon Orme It was a bit of surprise checking the route on Tracklogs that I had rode just over fifty miles on a ride in 2017, there were some fine views of the mountains of Yorkshire Dales on the ride out Settle. The ride started with bash up the Lune Valley with refuelling stop at the Bridge House Farm Tearoom. After the coffee and cake stop, I followed the lane up to Mill Houses, it was nice see the catkins out in the hedgerows and the snowdrops in full bloom. From Mill Houses, I headed up Russells Lane, then along the Old Moor Road before crossing over Long Lane and then following Cross Road up to Mewith Lane which I stay on for next several miles. At Dubgarth Hill, I continue along Eldroth Lane for the next few miles before following Paley Green Lane down to the A65 which cross over before heading along Brackenber Lane into Giggleswick. From Giggleswick it was short ride into Settle where stop for some lunch. After lunch, I headed out of Settle and back into Giggleswick, then followed Stainforth Lane out of Giggleswick through Stackhouse and Little Stainforth before dropping down to Swarth Moor. From Swarth Moor, I followed the tarmac down to Austwick, it did get a bit damp for a few minutes as I was dropping down into the Austwick Valley. From Austwick, it was short ride to Clapham where I stop at the Reading Room Cafe for coffee and cake. From Clapham, I cross over the A65 and followed the lane down to Clapham Station where I cross over the River Wenning, then it was short sharp climb following the tarmac across Clapham Moor up Dubgarth Hill where it was case retracing my morning ride back to Wray and back down the Lune Valley to Halton.
