Walk report by Simeon Orme As I am cyclist and the only time I put on my walking boots in the past 20 years, was to go on the annual Boxing Day Walk. So these walks that I am doing with my Mum Pat Lloyd are taking me to places that I just cycle pass or through which case with Arnside Knott, when you doing a off-road day ride around the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, one of the tracks you going to do is the bridleway over the shoulder of Arnside Knott which I do at least one a year. So ask Mum when I was taking in the car to do the weekly food shop on Friday evening if she been to Arnside Knott in the last few years, the answer was ‘No’. So I agree to pick her up on the Saturday afternoon and then drive up to Arnside. We left the car at the National Trust Car park on Arnside Knott and then followed the footpath down to New Barns Bay, there some nice views looking across the Kent Estuary towards Grange-over-Sands at start of the footpath, then the views disappear as we walk through Copridding Wood but later open up as we followed the footpath cross a meadow to get to road to New Barns Bay where Pat took the opportunity have five minute sit down on bench and look at the view. We soon on our way again following the tarmac towards Arnside, there were signs that Spring was on its way with Snowdrops out in flower. We had another five minute stop on another bench on the climb back up shoulder of Arnside Knott as we headed back to the car at the National Trust Car Park.
