Where to buy plants from in the UK and in the South Lakes
A good starting point, is to decide what you interest in growing and looking around the neighourhood to see what other folk are growing in their gardens, it will give some ideal what you can  grow in the garden without doing a ph test of the soil in the garden (If want do a ph test of the soil in the garden they range from £10 up to £30 on Amazon). If you renting or own your home or planing to move in near future, you have make a decision what to grow the plants in, so if you planning to stay in same place for more five year plant into soil in the garden and if you planning stay less than five years plant stuff in a container which easliy move on to your next home.
Once decided what you are going to grow, do a web search on the plant that you interest it is usualy cheaper to buy online than at the local garden centre but it worth having walk around a few of the local garden centres and local retail nurseries may pick up some bargins when plants finished flowering, the garden centres will discount them to move the stock. It also good ideal to buy small, larger the plant is, the more you going have to pay for it. It also worth looking at delivery charges and compare that to cost of traveling to the garden centre or local retail nursery. Its worth buying the RHS Plant Finder Guide which 2026 edition list 64,000 plants and which plant nursery you buy them from. The other thing you have  remember, when buying on line, is how fast the plants are going to be deliver and don't buy in heat wave, the plants may die transit.
Below is list of plant nurseries that I bought plants from over past year while recovering from the big 'C' and list of local garden centres and retail nurseries that I have bought plants from in South Lakes and its worth doing searchs on Amazon and other websites for garden equipment.
