I had Primula sieboldii growing in the back garden for number of years, its does best for me in 80 litre tub by back door.

Plant description: Primula sieboldii is a charming herbaceous perennial prized for its delicate, fringed flowers and attractive foliage. Native to Japan, Korea, and parts of eastern Asia, it naturally grows in moist meadows, woodland edges, and streamside habitats. It forms low clumps of soft, rounded, heart-shaped leaves that create a lush green basal rosette.
In late spring to early summer, slender stems rise above the foliage, bearing clusters of elegant flowers in shades of pink, lavender, purple, white, or bicolour combinations. The petals are often deeply notched or fringed, giving the blooms a delicate, almost lace-like appearance. Numerous cultivars have been developed, offering a wide range of flower colours and forms.
Primula sieboldii thrives in cool, moist, well-drained soils rich in organic matter and performs best in partial shade, particularly in areas with mild summers. It is an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and waterside plantings. As a deciduous perennial, the foliage may die back after flowering, especially during hot or dry conditions, before re-emerging the following growing season.
