Galanthus elwesii 'Mount Everest'
General information: Galanthus elwesii ‘Mount Everest’ is a striking and robust cultivar of the giant snowdrop, admired for its tall stature and luminous white flowers. Blooming in late winter to early spring, it produces large, elegant, nodding blooms held well above the foliage on strong, upright stems. The outer tepals are long, pure white, and gracefully shaped, while the inner segments display a distinctive green mark near the tip—an attractive contrast that highlights the flower's refined form.
The foliage is a glaucous blue‑green, broad, and slightly arching, complementing the bright flowers and providing a handsome clump through the early season. As a vigorous and reliable snowdrop, ‘Mount Everest’ naturalizes well in cool temperate gardens, thriving in lightly shaded positions beneath deciduous trees and shrubs where winter light reaches the ground.
A favorite among collectors for its size and poise, ‘Mount Everest’ brings a sense of brightness and purity to the winter garden and stands out as one of the more architectural elwesii forms.

Where to buy: I bought my in Autumn 2025 as bulbs from J. Parker bulbs and plants, its case doing webseach in Autumn to see if you want buy them as bulbs or in the green in January or February. I would recommend growing them in pot for first year to bulk them up before planting them out in the garden and don't made mistake of not putting label in pot telling what they are.
