I have had them sucessfully growing in the back garden for number of years, my best advice is buy them in pot, you should be able to pick them up at the local garden centre in late summer or early spring. If  you buying tubers plant into container with good drainage and give them change get establish before planting them into the garden.

Plant description: One of the finest and most reliable autumn-flowering cyclamens, Cyclamen hederifolium brings colour and interest to the garden from late summer into autumn. Native to the Mediterranean region, it produces elegant, upswept flowers in shades of pink, rose, or occasionally white, often appearing before the leaves emerge. The blooms hover above the ground on slender stems, creating a charming display when many flowers open together.

Its highly ornamental foliage is a particular feature, with ivy-shaped leaves beautifully patterned in silver, pewter and green. The leaves emerge during autumn and persist throughout winter, forming attractive ground cover before dying back in late spring as the plant enters dormancy.

Growing from a hardy tuber, Cyclamen hederifolium is exceptionally easy to cultivate and thrives in dry shade beneath deciduous trees and shrubs, where it gradually naturalises through self-seeding. It is well suited to woodland gardens, rockeries, borders and containers, providing years of dependable performance with minimal maintenance.
