I hold my hand up and say don't know much about this cyclamen species, I came across it on J. Parker Bulbs website and decided to buy the tubers in Autumn 2025 and planted five tubers into 15 litre pot with multi-purpose compost and horticultural grit on surface to protect the tubers from the rain and was rewarded with flowers in September 2026 and continue flowering into October 2026. I got them growing in driveway container garden, they like hot summers and good drainage.

Plant description: A delightful autumn-flowering species native to the mountains of southern Turkey, Cyclamen cilicium is prized for its elegant flowers, attractive foliage and ease of cultivation. Blooming from late summer into autumn, it produces masses of sweetly scented flowers in shades of pale pink to deep rose, often with a darker blotch at the base of each petal. The petals are gracefully reflexed, creating the distinctive swept-back appearance characteristic of cyclamens.

The heart-shaped leaves emerge shortly before or alongside the flowers and are beautifully patterned with silver marbling on a rich green background. During winter, the foliage forms an attractive carpet before dying back in late spring as the plant enters summer dormancy.

Growing from a flattened tuber, Cyclamen cilicium thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial shade, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, raised beds, rock gardens and naturalised plantings beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Once established, it is drought tolerant during its summer resting period and can gradually form charming colonies through self-seeding.

Height: 10-15 cm (4-6 in)
Spread: 15-20 cm (6-8 in)
Flowering period: August to October
Position: Partial shade
Soil: Well-drained, humus-rich soil
Hardiness: Hardy in most UK gardens with good drainage
