Clematis 'Andromeda'
I bought this variety in late October 2026 from Beetham Nurseries but grown by Thorncroft Clematis and Climbers it seem to be rare thing with Clematis varieties their no breeders rights attached to this variety.
Position in the front garden
Plant description: Clematis ‘Andromeda’ is a striking, early large-flowered deciduous climber valued for its elegant bicoloured blooms. The large flowers, typically 15-20 cm across, are creamy white to pale pink with a bold deep pink stripe running down the centre of each tepal, complemented by golden-yellow stamens. Early-season flowers are often semi-double, creating an especially showy display, while a second flush of single blooms appears later in the season.

This vigorous yet manageable clematis grows to around 2.5-4 m in height and is ideal for covering trellises, pergolas, fences, obelisks, and other garden supports. Flowering begins in late spring to early summer, with repeat blooms in late summer or early autumn.

‘Andromeda’ thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, although it benefits from cool, shaded roots and protection from intense afternoon heat. As a Group 2 clematis, it requires only light pruning to maintain shape and encourage repeat flowering.
