Plant description: Clematis alpina ‘Ruby’ is a charming, early-flowering climber prized for its elegant, nodding blooms in rich ruby-pink shades. Appearing in mid to late spring, the flowers have four pointed sepals surrounding a creamy-white centre, creating a graceful, lantern-like effect that attracts bees and other pollinators. After flowering, decorative silky seed heads provide interest well into summer.

This hardy deciduous climber is ideal for covering trellises, fences, obelisks and small trees, bringing colour to the garden when many other climbers are only beginning to grow. Its delicate green foliage forms an attractive backdrop to the vibrant blooms, while its manageable growth habit makes it suitable for smaller gardens and containers.
