4th November 2006 ride to Grisedale

The thirteen of us head up the 500 yards from the car park into Sedbergh, to stop for our morning coffee break at the ‘The Gallery Coffee House’ where Brian Parkinson bought everyone drinks has its was his birthday.
After putting the world to right, we headed out of Sedbergh on the A683 for short distance before turning on to the A684 which follow about mile before turning on to public byway (white road) crossing over the River Clough via the Garsdale Bridge, we then followed byway back round to A683, after about 10 yards on the A683 turn off it to follow the road up to Dovecote Gill Farm where we them follow another public byway to Garsdale Foot where we rejoined the tarmac. We then followed this road through the hamlets of Hind Keld West and Hind Keld East before rejoining the A684 which followed through Garsdale Village, before turning on to the Old road and treated to climb up Cock Brow, then we turn on to Grisedale Road which followed up to East House. At East House we followed the public byway up on to Grisedale Common, where we joined the bridleway, after bit of detour we stop for some lunch where the track cross over the boundary between Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
After lunch we continue down the track through South Lunds Pasture into the Mallerstang valley where we followed the B6259 and then the A684 back to Sedbergh.
