Ride report by Simeon Orme
After getting the bikes out of the cars at the National Park’s car park in Stainforth, the three of us headed down  Ribbledale to Settle for our first cafe stop via Little Stainforth and Stainforth Lane, we did have to stop short time for Ed mend his puncture. As its was still raining after coming out of the cafe in Settle, Brian said there was good cafe in Long Preston that we should investigate for lunch (we already decide it we not a bright ideal to do the plan ride to Littondale due to the whether), so we made our way out of Settle along Mitchell Lane, to join the Pennine Briddleway which we followed to Long Preston, we did stop for short break on climb out of Settle to watch  a steam train coming into Settle.

In Long Preston we headed to the Tea Rooms at the Long Preston Post Office and Stores, I recommend the beans on toast and egg which I had! After we ate, it was still raining! So we followed the lanes through Wigglesworth  and Rathmell, then cross over the A65, then made our way through Giggleswick and then headed along Stainforth Lane  back to the cars at Stainforth. I hope it will a bit drier for our next ride from Cartmel on the 17th September.
