Clematis pruning  Group 1: These are Armandii,  Atragene, Cirrhosa, Forsteri, Montana Groups and other Evergreen
clematis. Need tidy up after flowering.
Clematis pruning Group 2: These are Early Large Flowered Cultivars. Need light pruning carried out during late
February or March each year.
Clematis pruning Group 3: These are late large flowered cultivars, Flammula, Florida, Tangutica, Texensis, Viticella
Groups and species clematis. Need hard pruning to carried out during late February or March.
Potting mix for Clematis grown in containers: Three quarters John Innes No3 and quarter multi purpose compost.
Feeding for Clematis: In February apply a good handful of bonemeal and around base of plant with five slow release
tablets fertiliser and water in. In March apply large handful of Magnesium Salts around the base of plant and water in. In
late April a single handful of  Sulphate of Potash around the base of plant and water in or use tomato feed once a fortnight
from April until mid September.
