Outdoor Photography magazines which is starting made me think how take photos on rides, I hope you enjoy looking at the photos of the ride.
I should point out that most of the rides I do start inside a cafe for reason, so that folk can meet up, have chat, drink some coffee or tea and maybe have some cake, maybe come out on ride with me or just go off and do your thing. With my weekends free from work, Sunday for me about going cycling and taking some good photos.
Its not everyone cup of tea to lead ride and know the local Cycling-UK group as been having problems finding volunteers to lead rides, so if think you might enjoy my company on ride, the route is discuss over cup of coffee and then fine tune over the ride, we don’t always go to the destination on the forthcoming event page that is ideal where we may get to on the ride and also if you thinking about coming on ride with me please bring a camera with you, has the aim on most rides is take photos of what see on the ride.
Its not rocket science my route from Halton to The Roost Cafe at Leighton Moss RSPB Visitor Centre but does highlight the fact you don’t have start a ride in North Lancashire in the middle of Lancaster and yes high percentage of the folk in North Lancashire don’t live in Lancaster, there is plenty places where cyclists can meet and start ride from!
I did go out way and shout about that I was doing ride today, has wanted another go at trying to take bird photos with my 55 to 300mm lens with 1.4 x AW AF Rear Converter on it and with Pentax K-3 mark 3 body on it, I spent happy half hour after my brew and cake in the cafe taking photos of birds coming to free meal in the bird feeding area outside the visitor centre.
After leaving the RSPB Visitor, I soon heading along the Row, its always worth stopping at Bank Well to see whats flowering and what worth taking photo of and yes in the middle of Winter there always something that may catch your eye. On today ride it was Bullrush and the catkins.
I was soon heading along Park Road to Elmslack, then followed the Cove Road out of Lancashire, there few places on this road where it was good ideal to get off and walk with the bike due to slippy conditions on road where the morning frost had not thaw out yet and its not good ideal when you on wrong side of fifty to tempting fate!
There not many off-road sections in this small national park for cyclists to follow but the bridleway over the shoulder of Arnside Knott is interesting to do at this of year but you don’t know what going see at side of the bridleway, there some nice views looking across the Kent Estuary towards the Lakeland Mountains for you enjoy before dropping down into Arnside.
I stop for some lunch at end pier in Arnside before following the lanes back to Halton and making back home in time to do some photo editing of photos that took on the ride.
