A bit further along the Old Shap Road.
Ride report by Simeon Orme
After meeting at Kendal Leisure Centre, the nine of  us headed out of  Kendal along the cycle track and through some back streets on to the A6 and then heading up the A6 for about mile before stopping  at Morrison Supermarket for morning coffee.
After morning coffee we cross over the A6, to followed Gillthwaiterigg Road and then Garnet Bridge Road up to Garnet Bridge. We then followed the road up Longsleddale to Sadgill, where we joined the track which followed up to Brownhowe Botton where we stop for lunch. After lunch we continue over Gatescarth Pass down to Mardale Head, we stop for afternoon tea at the Haweswater Hotel, we continue down Mardale before turning on to white road which we followed through to the A6 near Shap. After about mile on the A6 we turn on part of the Old Shap Road which followed up to the summit of Shap before rejoining the A6 which followed back into Kendal.
